This position will lead the efforts implement, monitor, and statistically analyze various performance metrics (i.e. yield, throughput) within the Toronto facility. Through this analysis, this person will uncover opportunities for improvement and make recommendations for areas of continuous improvement focus. This person will need to be able to take shop floor, manufacturing data and transform it into meaningful information for supervisors and managers. This information will help drive the Toronto Plant Continuous Improvement efforts to enhance safety performance, improve quality, improve yield, reduce cost, and meet TIMET’s on-time delivery goals. At all times, this person will need to conduct business in a safe, ethical, and professional manner.
1. Data Analysis
Learn and understand the process flow of material through the manufacturing environment.
Be able to utilize various statistical software packages (i.e. Minitab or equivalent) to analyze data
Be able to understand, query, and develop SPC reporting for key metrics.
Lead efforts to establish data collection systems where needed.
Be the subject matter expert for the plant regarding statistical analysis.
Mentor and teach others
2. Data Reporting
Be able to organize, develop, and present data and the results of data analysis into meaningful reports to be used by all levels of the organization to drive improvement.
Lead and support efforts to develop and improve data reporting throughout the organization.
3. Data Presentation and Recommendations
Utilize the results of the analysis and reporting to make formal recommendations to plant leadership for areas of continuous improvement focus.
Be able to communicate the results of the detailed analysis to various audiences.
Work with other TIMET locations on data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives as required
Attend training classes and seminars to learn improvement methodologies and to enhance technical skills
Ability to liaise with TIMET Corporate IT Department as required

Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (required) in Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering related field
Experience in metals or manufacturing environments a plus
Three to five years experience preferred
Excellent mathematical and statistical skills
Expert in Minitab or equivalent statistical software
Required excellent computer skill and easily adaptable to different computer software systems
Proficient Knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Knowledge of SAP
Knowledge of SQL Server and/or Oracle databases
Knowledge of SQL programming language
Knowledge of Plant Information Systems, Wonderware preferred
Flexible/adaptable; able to work with diverse groups of people and in many different situations
