Responsible to manage various operations and product engineering activities with TIMET material processing performed both internally and with subcontracor resources. Lead, facilitate, and execute process engineering and continuous improvement projects with TIMET subcontractors using a variety of engineering and continuous improvement skills. Projects require a cost justification, project plans and timely focused project execution resulting in measurable, sustained business improvements. Complete operation specific assignments as assigned/needed.
On-site surveillance of Toronto and subcontracted processes
Technical capability evaluations and approvals of new subcontractors, equipment, etc.
Identifying/Leading safety yield and cost saving projects
Assisting in the design of new product/process trials and documenting results
Evaluating/facilitating information exchanges with TIMET and PCC mills
Corrective and preventive action investigations
Technical report writing
Involvement in customer related issues
Daily involvement and engagement in daily operations within Toronto.
Engage in daily operations, tasks and projects to improve safety, quality, OTD, throughput, etc.
Actively participate as a department operations team member. Specifically engage to meet team goals.
Work with other TIMET locations on continuous improvement initiatives as required.
Utilize Access databases and Excel Worksheets as required.
Attend training classes and seminars to learn additional technical skills, management skills, C.I. methodologies and improvement tools, etc.
Extensive knowledge and work experience with metal working processes and equipment
Strong project coordination and organization skills.

Education and Experience
B.S. in Metallurgical or Engineering is preferred. Other disciplines will be considered
Experience with forging, hot rolling or finishing operations is preferred
Familiarity with AS 9100, ISO 9000, or QS 9000 quality systems is desired
Experience with statistical quality control techniques is preferred
Familiarity with Metallurgical Testing and NDT techniques is a plus
5+ years of related experience desired
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Access and/or Minitab is a plus
