The Senior Gas Integrity Engineer is responsible for leading all engineering aspects of Peoples Natural Gas' (PNGs) Distribution and Transmission Integrity Programs (DIMP & TRIMP). Specifically, in line inspections, pressure tests and any other applicable methods and activities to assure PNGs TRIMP compliance, as well as DIMP Risk models, asset categorization and Annual DIMP execution. This includes design, analysis, project leadership, quality process/compliance, budget/cost management, schedule adherence, and interactions with affected groups or individuals internal and external to Peoples. There is potential for high performing candidates to advance into managing Peoples Natural Gas' Integrity programs.

Essential Duties:

  • Oversee Peoples Natural Gas's TRIMP baseline reassessment plan and schedule.

  • Evaluate projects, develop project plans, and lead the overall implementation of programs and/or projects, including costs, budgets, contract negotiations, Safety, and schedule management.

  • Plan, schedule and coordinate TRIMP assessment projects with PNG personnel and outside contractors.

  • Evaluate and document ILI test results including anomaly comparisons to previously collected data.

  • Work with GIS Team to ensure accurate data for HCAs, ID Sites and class locations.

  • Oversee PNGs TRIMP ICAM application including assessment and MOC documentation.

  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge through specialize training and evaluate new technology for pipeline inspections.

  • Provide engineering design and/or analysis for projects, including use of supporting software programs and databases.

  • Manage the bidding process and purchase of materials for projects.

  • Maintain up to date technical knowledge through specialize training and evaluate new technology for pipeline inspections.

  • Monitor and ensure compliance with all applicable policies, practices, and regulations for all personnel involved on related integrity projects.

  • Provide expertise, guidance and oversight to PNGs DIMP plan including ICAM program execution.

  • Work with GIS Team to produce annual DIMP Risk runs score and documentation.

  • Support the Director and act in his/her absence on an as-needed basis.

  • Responsible for supporting Capital & O&M related to TRIMP project work. May manage project of up to $1MM or more.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Advanced knowledge of applicable policies, practices, and procedures as well as federal, state codes, and PUC rules and regulations, and specific knowledge of the discipline (see Experience/Education).

Experience/Educational Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in Gas Distribution, Operations, and/or Engineering.

  • Direct experience with natural pipeline ILI technology and PT assessment methods including anomaly analysis and interpretation

  • Knowledge and experience with both DIMP & TRIMP rule regulations and implementation

  • Proven project management skills with capability to manage multiple diverse projects and managing project resources.

  • Demonstrated skill in presenting information in a concise, economic-based manner.

  • Demonstrated progressive project management skills.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a field providing advanced analytical education required.

  • Demonstrated related experience may be substituted for preferred education.

  • Applicable accreditations preferred but not required.

  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive Company Vehicles.

Working Conditions:

  • Travel approximately 50% to work sites, external customers and travel beyond Pittsburgh representing Company.

  • Perform medium work- exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Exposure to gas or similar hazards as well as odors and gases similar. Exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, wet and/or humid conditions and vibration possible; exposure to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and gas possible; may work in atmosphere conditions containing fumes, odors, dusts, mists, gases, and having poor ventilation.

  • Physical demands include the ability to maneuver at work locations (including visual acuity, hearing, communicating, lifting, bending, reaching, pushing/pulling, manual dexterit, and repetitive motions).

  • Position requires the ability to drive Company vehicles, use computer-related equipment and general gas operations tools and equipment when on site.
