About the Job


    • Assign employees to work stations on shifts, based on production and scheduling requirements.

    • Interpret Company policy and production processes to shift personnel and ensure they''re followed.

    • Maintain and oversee the keeping of proper production records.

    • Analyze production reports daily to take corrective action or notify management of necessary steps to

    • maintain proper quality and quantity.

    • Productively operate production machinery within quality standards defined by the Company based on

    • production schedule.

    • Cross train to operate other department machinery.

    • Orient new employees and follow up to make sure they are receiving proper training on the job.

    • Recommend and implement disciplinary action on shift employees according to Company policies after

    • reviewing all the circumstances.

    • Enforce Company safety policies, procedures and continually maintain world class housekeeping.

    • Promote Company philosophy & make it available to manufacturing and production employees.

    • Participate in communication meetings with departmental personnel as required.

    • Coordinate and cooperate with other departments to meet Company goals, objectives and projects.

    • Inform department manager of any problem situations in a timely manner.

    • Perform 700-hour merit based reviews of direct reports.

    • Hold monthly safety meetings.

    • Fulfill job requirements as listed below:

    • Communicate with the Department Manager daily to ensure communications between shifts.

    • Check all operations regularly for quality, quantity, etc. to make sure correct products are being manufactured.

    • Check and order all supplies needed for shift daily

    • Review machine schedules with planners to make sure there are no red lists required

    • Work with Production Control to optimize schedules for better delivery dates and productivity

    • Check manufacturing orders in the computer regularly to ensure that components are being issued properly and correct information is listed on each shop packet

    • Continually check employees working with hazardous chemicals for safety equipment required in their work center

    • Perform any task necessary to make shift, department, operations run smoothly.


Required Experience:


    • Ability to read, write and do basic math.

    • One to three years of manufacturing or production experience.

    • At least one year of supervisory experience strongly preferred.

    • Flexo Printing/Color experience preferred but will train; four-color strongly preferred).

    • Toning inks, mechanical aptitude highly desired.

    • Ability to perform computer inventory transactions.

    • Basic data entry and retrieval computer experience.

    • JDE Edwards strongly preferred.

    • Color discrimination and problem solving test required.
